THE ANCHORAGE FOLK FESTIVAL PRESENTS ... @oddmanrushbrewing
I DRAW SLOW from Dublin, Ireland, weaves traditional Irish tunes with contemporary Americana grit! I Draw Slow has consistently redefined roots music over four celebrated albums, many continents, and thousands of hearts. I Draw Slow write unique songs that inspire love and loyalty. Fans are drawn to their dynamic, emotionally-charged performances that captivate audiences with exquisite balladry, then bring them to their feet with high energy, bass heavy dance trad. Their latest album moves once again into new roots territory, employing traditional string instruments to deliver contemporary themes and alt-folk grooves.
WITTY YOUNGMAN, a descendant of King Island Inupiat and an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Sioux tribe, opens the night! The fourth born of ten rascal kids, Witty is the only musician and performer in her generation. "I grew up in a really small house with multiple generations living together, that’s normal where I am from. In my culture, it is a regular thing to spend a lot of your time with your grandparents, and I realize how lucky I am to have had that. I know where I come from and I am not afraid of not knowing where I am going."
